2014 ELECTION

General elections is a means of implementing the people’s sovereignity in the republic of indonesia based on pancasila and the constitution of the republic of indonesia year 1945. Election is held to elect recreseventatives, as well as to form a democratic government , robust ,and secure popular support in orrder to realize natinal objectives as the constitution of the republic of indonesia year 19945. Elections in Indonesia is a manifestation of the sovereignty of the people against the rights of citizens to elect officials in the state administration system in Indonesia elections is one of the mechanisms of democracy to the unitary state of Indonesia, mentioned in article 1, paragraph 2 of the 45 Constitution states that the people have the power ( sovereignty) high. The mechanism of the delivery and the sovereignty of the people, will be done through a representative (representaive democracy) is through elections electoral understanding in Indonesia is a tool in the implementation of the people to elect representatives directly to members of state institutions, namely the DPR, DPD and DPRD and the president and vice president.

After the fourth amendment to the Constitution was first held in 2004. then proceed with the regional head and deputy regional head (election) is also in maskan as part of the election agenda in Indonesia, according to law number 22 of 2007. and every institution in the country to vote in the elections, elections that gave birth to the term division of legislative and presidential elections and the vice president was held 5 years. In the 2004 election participants was reduced from 48 to 24 political parties alone. This has caused the enactment of the threshold (Threshold Electroral) in accordance with Law No. 3/1999 on General Election which stipulates that political parties have the right to vote is a political party that won his next at least 2% of the total seats in the House. political parties do not reach the threshold should follow the next election by joining with other parties and established a new political party.
